Behind the operable doors, a ceramic burner and a four-piece split oak log set give a realistic fire. The doors, ceramic glass, and safety barrier make it look and feel like a classic wood stove.

Possible Downsides

• It cannot be sold in New York or Rhode Island; the electronic-ignition Intrepid can.
