Who It’s For
You want wood heat with a clean European look. You need a stove that holds its own in a modern room. The Osburn Matrix is for the space Osburn rates at 500 to 2,100 square feet.
What Makes It Special
Its clean, modern lines follow a Scandinavian look, with log storage under the firebox and optional Canadian-mined soapstone top and side panels.
A blower is included for even heat distribution. It is approved for mobile homes and alcove installations. Osburn backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.
Possible Downsides
• It is a wood fire. You haul and store wood, clean ash, and sweep the chimney.
• Burn time and heating area vary. Osburn notes that the heating area and burn time vary with the home, chimney draft, climate, and fuel.
If you want to heat with wood, the Osburn Matrix is the right decision. The stove becomes the warmest spot in the house.
Choose soapstone or black side panels and a soapstone or steel top.
