Who It’s For

A long wall makes a standard-size fireplace look smaller than it is, and the room ends up organized around the TV instead of the fire. You need a fire scaled to the wall it lives in. If you’re building or remodeling and you want the fire to be the first thing people notice, the Napoleon Vector LV62 is the one—it builds into a framed wall and finishes with your tile or stone, so plan it with our team as part of the wall rather than an appliance added to it later. A standard-size unit will keep the room warm; this is the one people talk about.

What Makes It Special

This is the 62-inch model in Napoleon’s Vector line: a fire wide enough to be the focal point of the room, not a window into one, with top lights that keep the firebox glowing even when the flames are off.

The look is yours to build. Choose the media—high-definition oak, driftwood, or birch logs, a beach fire or mineral rock kit, or glass on its own—and set the multi-colored LED ember bed to whatever suits the evening. The remote and eFIRE phone app are included, so on and off, flame height, and ember color are all handled from the couch.

Planning a TV on the same wall? Napoleon’s optional Dynamic Heat Control lowers the wall temperature above the fireplace without a fan, so it stays quiet and allows a TV recessed directly above the fire—the lowest height clearances in the lineup for a screen or artwork.

Possible Downsides

• The media is a required choice—you pick a log set, glass, or rock kit to complete the fire; none is included by default.
• The fan is optional, not included, so out of the box the LV62 heats without a blower pushing warm air across the room.
• This model is single-sided; if you want the fire visible from two rooms, the see-through LV62N2 is a separate model.
