Who It’s For

Most linear gas fireplaces are wide but short—a low ribbon of flame along the bottom of a big glass panel, and getting more height out of it usually means burning more gas. You need a fire that’s tall as well as wide, without paying for the height in fuel. If you’re finishing a great room, a two-story wall, or a commercial space where the fireplace has to hold the room on its own, this is your category. Choose a standard linear and you get the ribbon; choose the Napoleon Tall Vector 62 and the fire fills a window more than five feet wide and over two feet tall.

What Makes It Special

The flames climb the full height of the glass, and Napoleon built the burner to deliver taller flames without added fuel consumption—more fire, not a bigger gas bill. From across the room it reads as a wall of fire, not a strip of one.

The firebox is lined with reflective porcelain panels that multiply the fire in the glass, lights wash it from above, and the ember bed glows in any color you can imagine. The included remote and the eFIRE app on your phone handle all of it—on and off, flame height, ember color—from the couch.

Planning a TV above it? Optional heat-management kits move the heat where you want it, keeping the wall above cool enough for a TV or artwork, or carrying warm air to another room entirely.

Possible Downsides

• The fan kit is optional, not included.
• The luminous log set is required and chosen separately—birch, driftwood, or oak.
• This is the single-sided model; if you want the fire visible from two rooms, look at the see-through Tall Vector 62.

If you want a gas fire that fills the wall instead of a slot in it, the Tall Vector 62 is the right decision. The room it’s in becomes the room the house lives in.

Choose the required luminous log set in birch, driftwood, or oak, then finish the look with ambient-glow embers, a four-sided black finishing trim for installs that need more coverage, and an optional wall-mounted control.
