Who It’s For

There’s a room in your house that wants a fireplace—a bedroom, a den, an interior wall—but there’s no chimney, no gas line, and adding either would turn the project into construction. You need a fire that installs where venting can’t go. If you want the look of a real fire year-round, with or without the heat, the Element 42 is built for exactly that room. Put a gas unit on that wall instead and you’re paying for venting and a gas line before the fire ever turns on.

What Makes It Special

The Element is self-trimming: the finishing frame is built into the unit, so once it’s set into the wall, the edge is done—no separate trim kit needed to make it look complete. And because it’s electric, it requires no venting at all, which is what makes walls that could never hold a fire fair game.

It’s also a fire for July, not just January. Run the flames without the heat on a summer evening, and set the top lights to any of seven color settings until the room looks the way you want. When winter comes, plug it into a standard outlet for everyday warmth—or have an electrician hardwire it at 240 volts and it delivers twice the heat. A decorative brick panel set and a realistic log set come in the box.

Possible Downsides

• It warms one room, not a house. Approx. 250–500 sq ft is comfort for the room it’s in; electric is the better accent, gas is the better heater.
• Full heat requires hardwiring. On a standard outlet it delivers about half its maximum heat; the top output needs a 240-volt connection installed by an electrician.

If you want a real fire’s presence in a room where a chimney was never an option, the Element 42 is the right decision. The wall you never knew what to do with becomes the one everyone drifts to.

The Element 42 comes with decorative brick side panels, a realistic log set, and seven top-light color settings, with an optional black finishing trim kit if you want a wider border around the fire.
