Montigo: 34" Illume Traditional

An efficient gas insert with the remote and battery backup included.

Quick Facts

• Efficiency: 81.1% (P.4, natural gas)
• Fuel: Natural gas; propane conversion kit available.
• Controls: Multi-function remote with remote hi-lo flame; battery backup.
• Fan: Optional remote-controlled fans.

Who It’s For

An old wood fireplace looks warm but sends heat up the chimney and lets drafts in. You need to turn that opening into a fire you can count on. The Montigo Illume 34 Traditional Insert is for the homeowner with an existing masonry fireplace who wants gas heat from a remote. Leave the opening as it is and it stays the coldest spot in the room.

What Makes It Special

The traditional Illume pairs a ceramic burner and log set with halogen downlighting, over a glowing ceramic ember base.

A multi-function remote with remote hi-lo flame, a micro mesh screen, and a battery backup come standard, and Montigo notes it meets requirements for efficiency rebates.

Possible Downsides

• A liner must be ordered to complete the install. Montigo lists it as required.
• The fans are optional.

If you want your old fireplace to become a fire you can count on, the Montigo Illume 34 Traditional Insert is the right decision. The room you used to pass through becomes the one everyone settles into.

Choose black porcelain, rustic brown, or rustic red liners, a square, oversized, or 4-sided surround, remote-controlled fans, and Wi-Fi phone app control.
