Who It’s For

Some fireplaces disappear into the wall. You want one people notice the moment they walk in. The Mendota FV41 FullView is made for that. Settle for a basic box and the fire never becomes the room’s focal point.

What Makes It Special

Mendota says the FV41 has a way of fitting in almost any living space while never blending in, with clean lines and a large viewing area.

Mendota’s Classic fire comes from a two-tiered burner that gives the flames dramatic depth, and you can turn off the rear burner and lower the flame from the remote for a gentler fire.

If the power goes out, plug in the back-up battery pack and the burner and flame height keep working; the fans and accent lights wait for the power to return. Mendota builds its fireplaces from heavy-gauge steel with full-seam welding and careful hand assembly in America’s heartland.

Possible Downsides

• Logs, liner, and front are sold separately. You choose each one to build the look.
• The fans need power. In an outage the battery pack runs the burner, not the fans.

If you want a fireplace that becomes the center of the room, the Mendota FV41 FullView is the right decision. The room fills with warmth and everyone ends up gathered by the fire.

Choose the front or doors, the liner, and the log set or media, and add the LED floor light kit where offered. Ask about the Mendota Cool Wall, Versiheat, and FlexHeat kits, which move heat away from the wall or to another room.
