Who It’s For

Two rooms that share a wall can share a fire. You need one that looks right from both sides. The Marquis Bentley See-Through (Ceramic Glass) is for a wall between two living spaces where both should see the flame. Put a single-sided fireplace there and one room gets the fire while the other gets the back of a box.

What Makes It Special

A see-through clean view fireplace with an expansive viewing area that shares one fire between two rooms.

The standing-pilot or electronic-ignition valve keeps working during a power failure, with hi/low heat and flame adjustment; the electronic version runs from a wall-mount battery holder when the power is out.

This is the higher-efficiency version with ceramic glass, the choice for additional warmth; the standard version is rated for ambiance and taking the chill out of the room.

Possible Downsides

• The fan kit is optional. Without it, the fireplace heats by radiance.
• The remote is optional on the standing-pilot version. The Proflame II electronic version includes one.
