What Makes It Special

The standing-pilot or electronic-ignition valve keeps working during a power failure, with hi/low heat and flame adjustment; the electronic version runs from a wall-mount battery holder when the power is out.

Vent the chase and the wall above stays cooler for a TV or artwork, with lower mantel clearances (consult the installation manual).

This is the standard version with tempered glass, rated for ambiance and taking the chill out of the room; the ceramic-glass version is the higher-efficiency choice for more warmth.

Possible Downsides

• The fan kit is optional. Without it, the fireplace heats by radiance.
