Hargrove backs the logs with a limited lifetime warranty in the fireplace they were first installed in, the burner and grate for five years, and valves and remotes for two.

Possible Downsides

• It is for ambiance, not heat. The damper stays open while it burns, so most of the warmth goes up the chimney.
• The burner is sold separately. This set needs the matching Hargrove See-Thru Shallow burner.
• Check the firebox first. See-through sets need more depth than single-sided sets; the burner manual lists the minimum fireplace size for the 21-inch set.
