The Grand Canyon Arizona Weathered Oak Jumbo Slimline 30-inch set is for the home with a big wood-burning fireplace that wants a gas fire to match its size. Gas logs are about the fire you see, not heat.
What Makes It Special
Grand Canyon’s Jumbo Series pairs its heftiest Arizona Weathered Oak logs with its massive Jumbo burners: oversized burner tines under an oversized front log, and big flames on top. The logs come from the same lightning-struck Northern Arizona oak as the rest of the Weathered Oak collection.
The 30-inch set is nine logs. The Slimline version runs on the shallower Jumbo Slimline burner. The Jumbo burners are built for the Jumbo oak logs only. Grand Canyon casts each log in high-temperature concrete with ceramic refractory and stainless-steel fiber mesh, then hand paints it. Logs installed indoors carry a lifetime warranty; logs installed outside carry a five-year warranty.
Possible Downsides
• It is for ambiance, not heat. Most of the warmth goes up the chimney.
• It needs a Jumbo burner. The Jumbo burners take only the Jumbo oak logs, and the burner is sold separately.
