What Makes It Special

The fire itself is the draw. Molded logs sit over a flickering multi-color ember bed, and the LED flames run in 13 colors, three brightness levels, and three speeds—a classic orange fire one night, something moodier the next. Because the flames work with or without heat, it earns its keep in July as well as January.

When you do want warmth, Dimplex rates the fan-forced heater to warm up to 1,000 square feet; in most rooms, expect up to 500 sq ft, depending on climate and layout. That’s enough to take the chill off the room you’re sitting in without touching the thermostat. Press one button on the remote and a crackling-fire soundtrack plays along with the flames.
