Who It’s For

A linear fire this size usually means a gas line, a chimney, and a wall you open up—and once it’s in, it stays indoors. You need a big fire that installs wherever you actually live, including the sheltered patio. If you want a statement fire for a media wall, a remodel, or a covered outdoor room, the Ignite Bold 50 is the one; a standard electric fireplace does the indoor job, but it can’t follow you outside.

What Makes It Special

This unit is certified for outdoor use. Installed under an overhang that shelters it from direct rain, the same fireplace that anchors a living room can anchor a covered patio or outdoor kitchen. Outdoor installs require overhead protection, which is worth settling before anything is ordered.

One box installs three ways—front-facing, left or right corner, or bay with glass wrapped around three sides—so it fits a flat media wall as easily as a peninsula. The flame runs in layered colors you can set independently or as one of five presets, over a media bed of driftwood and clear crystals, and an ambient light sensor keeps the firebox tuned to the light in the room.

Run the flames with the heat off in July, or switch on the quiet fan-forced heater in January and let the furnace hold a baseline while this warms the room you’re in. A self-diagnosing module reports maintenance and operation issues plainly, backed by a 5-year indoor warranty.

Possible Downsides

• Supplemental heat for one area—it warms the room it’s in, not the whole house.
• Outdoor warranty is 1 year versus 5 years indoors, and outdoor installs must be sheltered from direct rain.
• Hardwired by default—the plug kit is a separate accessory, and full heat output requires a 240-volt connection.

If you want one serious fire that can live indoors or out on the covered patio, the Ignite Bold 50 is the right decision. The patio stops being a three-month afterthought and becomes the room everyone ends up in.

Flame and ember-bed colors adjust independently or combine in five presets, and optional accessories include a plug kit and a linking kit for joining multiple units into one longer fire.
