Who It’s For

A contemporary room wants a long, low fire, and a chimney isn’t always possible. You need a linear fireplace that frames in without one. The Astria Omega DLX 48 is for the modern room that wants a vent-free linear gas fireplace. Vent-free keeps the heat in the room.

What Makes It Special

An expansive opening shows flames over platinum crushed glass with multi-colored LED floor lighting. Kits make it see-through, indoor/indoor or indoor/outdoor, and a HeatFlo kit can send heat above heat-sensitive wall hangings.

A six-speed blower and touchscreen remote come with it, three flame settings give up to a 30% turn-down, and electronic ignition has battery backup. Astria backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.

Possible Downsides

• Vent-free is not allowed everywhere. Check local codes before you plan the room.

If you want a modern linear fire without a chimney, the Astria Omega DLX 48 is the right decision. The wall gets a clean line of fire without a chimney.

Choose glass colors, driftwood logs or river rocks, a porcelain or glass liner, and a decorative surround or trim.
