Who It’s For

A room without a fireplace feels unfinished, and a wood fire means hauling wood and cleaning ash. You need a gas fireplace that frames into the wall and looks the part. The Astria Gemini 35 is for the new build or remodel that wants a 35-inch traditional direct-vent fireplace. Astria lists it as a gas fireplace heater, so it is built to warm the room as well as look good.

What Makes It Special

High-definition logs and vibrant flames sit behind a wide choice of façades, Vista inside-fit or Designer overlap-fit, with a black painted interior or optional liners.

Choose a pilot-lit model or electronic ignition with seamless battery backup; electronic models come with a wireless wall control for variable flame. A blower and a touch or hand-held remote are optional. Astria backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.

Possible Downsides

• The blower and remote are optional. Add them for more air movement and couch-side control.

If you want a traditional gas fireplace built into the wall, the Astria Gemini 35 is the right decision. The fireplace becomes the place the evening starts.

Choose the façade and interior, and add the blower or remote where they are optional.
