Who It’s For
A long, low fire suits a contemporary room, but many linear fireplaces are sized for great rooms. You need one sized for an everyday wall. The Astria Compass DLX 45 is for the room that wants a 45-inch linear direct-vent gas fireplace.
What Makes It Special
The flame rises through platinum crushed glass with floor lighting in six settings, and driftwood logs or river rocks can add a transitional look.
A factory-installed six-speed blower and a multi-function touch remote come with it. Electronic ignition has battery backup, and a clean face with integrated tile stops makes finishing easy; a HeatFlo kit can direct heat above heat-sensitive wall hangings. Astria backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.
Possible Downsides
• Interior liner is optional. Black painted is standard; porcelain is an upgrade.
If you want a modern linear fire sized for an everyday room, the Astria Compass DLX 45 is the right decision. The wall gets a clean line of fire you’ll use every night.
Choose glass media colors, driftwood logs or river rocks, a porcelain liner, and a decorative surround.
